Welcome to Chaiya Meditation Monastery
The End of Buddhist Rain Retreat, Awk Pansa is the end of the Buddhist "Lent". It occurs on the full moon of the eleventh lunar month or three lunar months after Wan Kao Pansa. This year falls on Wednesday, October 12. This is a day of joyful celebration and merit-making, such as offering foods, flowers, candles and incenses to monks and monastery. It is also an opportunity of lay practitioners practice the Eight Precepts, listen to Dhamma talks and participate in meditation sessions at the monastery.
At CMM, this is the day that all the disciples are waiting for during the past three months because Arjahn Chaiya is complete his 3 months silent meditation retreat. Arjahn Chaiya will be leading an early meditation session around 3:30 AM and he will be sharing his experience and merit during his intensive silent retreat to everyone after the meditation session.
