The Good Karma
The Lord Buddha had always admired the act of donating accommodation to the community of monks, which he recognized as a form of supreme offering. As a result of this supreme offering, the donors will unavoidably receive the superlative benefit of being praised by the omniscient Buddha. As the law of cause and effect is commonly known throughout science, for every action there is a reaction, for every cause there is an effect, and from every effect there must have been a cause. Likewise, Karma is a common word used to describe the law of cause and effect in Buddhism. Devotees often associate good actions with good Karma. They believe that if we do the right deed, "good things" will be returned to us. Even though there is no specific time when our good deeds will be repaid to us, we will eventually be rewarded at some stage in life. Thus, donors and devotees who provide the four requisites of food, clothing, accommodation and medicine to venerable monks will ultimately be rewarded.
